Sent Churches, Sending Churches

In this episode, Jeff Vanderstelt talks with Ben Connelly about his newest book, Sent Churches, Sending Churches. Ben builds the case that every local congregation is a sent church and should strive to become a sending church by multiplying its leaders and resources. He argues the fear of scarcity—the belief that a church is never “ready” or “big enough” to send—as a primary barrier to fulfilling the Great Commission. By referencing the historical example of Antioch, a church’s true legacy is found in its outward Kingdom impact rather than its own success or growth. Ultimately, Ben and Jeff call for leaders to move from being “heroes” to “hero makers,” who intentionally equip and release their members for ministry.
