Ruth 4:13-22: Restoration & Legacy

The last verses in the book of Ruth show how everything that was broken at the beginning of the story—loss, emptiness, and hopelessness—is ultimately restored, pointing to God’s heart to put “unraveled” lives back together . Through the restoration of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz, and especially through the birth of a child in their lineage, the passage highlights how God not only redeems individuals but also preserves his larger promise of salvation, culminating in the line that leads to King David and ultimately to Jesus. The key takeaway is that every glimpse of restoration, provision, or goodness in our lives is a sign of God’s ongoing work and a foreshadowing of the full redemption he brings through Jesus, even when life feels like it’s falling apart.
